GETTING AROUND
By bus/tram
Public transport in Belarus is cheap. In Minsk one can travel by underground, buses, trams and trolleybuses. Tickets can be bought at newsagents or on board.
By taxi
Every taxi has a ‘taxi’ sign on the roof. Taxis can be ordered by phone or found at the taxi stands. They are fairly cheap.
By car
Driving is on the right side of the road. International driving licenses are required. Drivers must also have the Belarusian insurance and car registration documents. Driving under the influence of alcohol is prohibited. Driver and passengers must wear seat belts. Children under the age of 12 must travel in the back seats. Speed limits: built-up areas – 60 km/h, motorways – 100 km/h, outside built-up areas – 90 km/h.
