CLIMATE



Germany has mainly a temperate climate with warm summers and cold winters. The coastal regions have a maritime climate. The climate is more continental inland.




Temperatures

The average monthly temperatures in winter range from 1ºC in the north and northwest to -5ºC in the Alpine foothills. The average temperatures in summer range from 17ºC in the north and northwest to 20ºC in the Alpine foothills.


Precipitation

Annual total precipitation: 600-800 mm in the uplands and lowlands surrounded by the mountains, 1400 mm in the highlands, 2000 mm in the Alps.
