Beaches

Serbia is a landlocked country but Montenegro has a beautiful coast. The Ulcinjska Riviera offers fine sandy beaches where one can relax, sunbathe or practice water sports.


Sightseeing

Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, offers dozens of attractions – the Old Town, the Fortress, the famous Orthodox Cathedral and numerous museums and art galleries (for example, the Fresco Museum, the National Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art).

The most popular places in Montenegro include a coastal, picturesque town of Kotor with Venetian architecture, old coastal towns of Herceg Novi and Ulcinj also with stunning architecture and many interesting sites.


Hiking and rock climbing

Both countries offer perfect conditions for hiking, walking and rock climbing. There are numerous picturesque routes and trails, for example in the Durmitor National Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site), the Primeval Forest National Park (Montenegro) and the Kalemegdan Park (Serbia).


Skiing

Serbia and Montenegro offer good opportunities for skiing and other winter sports. The largest ski centres in Serbia are Kopaonik and Zlatibor and in Montenegro – Zabljak. The ski season starts in December and lasts to March. Skiing is cheap, compared to prices in Western Europe.


Water sports

The Montenegrin Durmitor National Park, mentioned earlier, and the Tara River can be a great destination for enthusiasts of kayaking, canoeing and rafting. Clean waters of both countries make them perfect places for various water sports.


Fishing

In Serbia and Montenegro one can fish for such species as: barbell, bream, roach, salmon, starlet, sturgeon, trout, zander and zingel. Fishing licenses can be obtained from recreational fishing clubs.


Nightlife

Both countries have a diverse nightlife. In the major Serbian and Montenegrin cities one can find numerous nightspots such as cinemas, theatres, clubs, cafes and restaurants. Parties start late, around midnight, and last until dawn.


Others

Other popular activities include cycling, bird watching and following the wine routes.
