CLIMATE



Climate in Spain is mainly Mediterranean with hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters. Climate in central Spain is continental, characterized by hot, dry summers and cold winters. Climate along the Atlantic coast is characterized by cooler summers and rainy winters.



Temperatures

The average monthly temperatures in winter: 3–7ºC in the central plateau, 10–12ºC and 18ºC on the Canary Islands. The average monthly temperatures in summer: 18–20ºC in the north and 29ºC in lowland Andalucia. The average water temperature: 18–20ºC.


Precipitation

Annual total precipitation: 300–500 mm.
