CLIMATE



Austria has a moderate continental climate with warm, sunny summers and cold winters. Snowfall is common in winter season. The mountainous regions have an alpine climate with snowy winters.





Temperatures


The average monthly temperatures in winter: from -10ºC in the Alps to -1ºC in the Danube Valley. The average monthly temperatures in summer: from 10ºC in the Alps to 20ºC in the Vienna Valley.


Precipitation

Annual total precipitation: 500-900 mm in the lowlands, 2000 in the mountainous valleys.
