CLIMATE


Italy lies mainly in the Mediterranean climate zone. Summers are hot, dry and winters are mild. In the north temperatures are lower, winters are colder, summers are warm and rainy.





Temperatures


The average monthly temperatures in winter: 0ºC in the north and 13ºC in the south. The average temperatures in summer: 23ºC in the north and 25ºC in the south. The average water temperature: 15ºC in winter and 23ºC in summer.


Precipitation

Annual total precipitation: 400 mm in the south, 2 000 in the Alps.
